Places to explore while you are in Sariska

Chand Baori in Abhaneri
It is the oldest stepwell constructed in Rajasthan back in the 8th and 9th centuries AD. You will be blown away by the sheer scale and intricacy of this place built by King Chanda of the Nikumbh dynasty.
Seeing Chand Baori from a different viewpoint is very enriching. Once you step into this mystical place this takes you back to the era of kings and queens which makes you feel nostalgic. The artistry is flawless. The astonishing part is that despite the natural disaster, these steps are still faultless over 1000 years from then.

The Harshat MataTemple
Another beautiful sight you can visit is Harshat mata temple which is situated near Chand Baori. As you move towards the temple to offer prayers you will see that this sculpture is of different deities of lords. The joy and sensation once you see the sculptures of Ganesha dancing and Krishna lifting a mountain, you can find some beautiful crafts as well. There are many pillars which are simply lying there and you can figure out that it was an enormous temple back then compared to what it is now. Wildlife protection at Sariska
To visit a jungle safari, the protection of wildlife is of utmost importance and when we talk about wildlife the first thing that comes to our mind is Bengal Tigers. And currently, in India, only 3000 Bengal tigers are left.
It was established to represent tiger homes in the world’s oldest mountain range, Aravali. Under the Rajasthan Wild Animals and Birds Protection Act, 1951 Sariska was declared a Reserved Area on 7th November 1955. Sariska was declared the 11th tiger reserve by the Government of India in 1978. The local people have fought against mining by citing the Wildlife Protection Act. In many villages, people are protecting habitats and not supporting government intervention. But for the successful protection of wildlife, they require the support of the government.

Birds of Sariska
You can witness different species of birds like Peafowl, Red Jungle Fowl, Spur Fowls, White Breasted Kingfishers, Golden Backed Woodpeckers, Great Indian Horned Owls, Quails, Partridges, Sandgrouse, Tree Pies, Crested Serpent Eagles, Parakeets, Drongos, Sunbirds and Vultures while staying at our resort in Sariska.

Bhangarh Fort
This fort was built in the 19th century. Bhangarh Fort is considered to be one of the most haunted places in India and is said to be cursed.
